At St. Peter parish, this is a program for children in middle school/high school who want to become Catholic. The program prepares children for the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and/or Eucharist.
Goals: Help children understand God and the Catholic Church, deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, and prepare them to enter/engage in sacramental life of the Church.
Process: Children are placed in regular classes with other peers. Children needing to be baptized will receive their sacrament at the Easter Vigil Mass.
Expectations: Children are expected to show weekly attendance at Mass with their families, attend and engage in bi-monthly classes and youth group meetings, and memorize their prayers before being approved for sacramental preparation. This is typically a two-year process.
